Problems that can be treated

Towels in therapy roomIf you are not sure what therapy would be suitable for you, we provide a brief overview below. However, do not hesitate to contact the Clinic on 01225 313153 (see home page for times) for further advice.

Healing
It could be said that the principle aim of Complementary and Alternative Medicine is to simulate the body's own healing mechanisms. Orthodox treatments tend in contrast to take control of these processses or override them completely, often in a more aggressive way. Both approaches have their place, of course and can invariably be used together.

If you are concerned about any symptoms from which you may be suffering the BNHC would always recommend that you consult your GP as a matter of course. In addition, seeing an alternative or complementary practitioner could also be of benefit.

Physical
Conditions that our practitioners frequently treat can be very wide-ranging, for example: - many forms of pain, in particular back pain, joint and musculo-skeletal  pain in general.  Other disorders commonly presenting for treatment include headaches, problems with digestion, poor circulation, the respiratory system, difficulties sleeping, gynaecological issues including infertility, bowel disturbances, post viral exhaustion, and genito-urinary problems. Many people come for treatment for less clearly defined symptoms such as a general feeling of ill-health or low energy.

Emotional
For problems of a more psychological and emotional nature we offer the services of experienced counsellors, psychotherapists and hypnotherapists.  The more physically based treatments available can also have profound effects on this type of problem because the physical and emotional areas tend to be closely linked, (the psychologically based thearpies can often help with the physical as well).

Well Being
The treatments we offer tend to have the benefit of enhancing an overall sense of well-being and good health.  This is because they try to go beyond the immediate symptoms by stimulating the body's own systems of healing and self-regulation.
